Our client, a leader in technology services, is seeking a Mainframe Network System Programmer to join their team. As a Mainframe Network System Programmer, you will be part of a global team supporting complex multi-protocol environments. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Mainframe Network System Programmer
Location: Remote Within Canada (Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship)
What’s the Job?
- Act as a resource and point of escalation for global team members.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex problems on zOS host networks.
- Provide planning and recommendations for changes on hardware and software components for the zOS network.
- Support project management with implementation of network software upgrades.
- Ensure compliance and security of the mainframe network environment.
What’s Needed?
- At least 5+ years’ experience performing z/OS system support/programming.
- Demonstrable skills in z/OS Network Systems Programming in a multi-LPAR Sysplex environment.
- Experience with Communication Server VTAM and TCP/IP.
- Strong diagnostic skills, including the ability to interpret logs and traces.
- Ability to train and coach junior team members.
