Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and licensed 310T / 310S School Bus Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing school buses and other fleet vehicles to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy-duty vehicles and possess a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on school buses and other fleet vehicles.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify issues.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide on-site repairs when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the dispatch and operations team to ensure vehicle availability.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Adhere to workplace safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid 310T / 310S Technician License (mandatory).
  • Previous experience as a mechanic, preferably in the school bus or transit industry.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle diagnostics and repair.
  • Familiarity with MTO safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
