Job Description

Our client, a fast-paced and growing company located in downtown Calgary, is currently seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Accountant to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:<ul><li>Perform general accounting duties including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end processes</li><li>Support accounts payable functions including invoice processing, payment preparation, and vendor communication.</li><li>Prepare and compile financial reports and summaries using Excel and data from multiple, non-integrated systems.</li><li>Assist in maintaining accurate records in QuickBooks Online and ensuring data consistency.</li><li>Collaborate with the Senior Accountant and the broader accounting team to streamline workflows.</li><li>Help support automation initiatives by adapting to evolving tools and processes.</li><li>Manage ad hoc financial data pulls and uploads, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal reporting needs.</li><li>Communicate effectively with internal departments to gather necessary financial data.</li><li>Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.</li></ul>
 
Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.</li><li>2+ years of experience in an accounting role, ideally within a fast-paced or evolving organization.</li><li>Strong Excel skills are a must, including experience with formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.</li><li>Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset.</li><li>Proven ability to manage data from multiple sources and work within non-integrated systems.</li><li>Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and strong organizational skills.</li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li><li>Proactive mindset with an openness to process change and technology adoption.</li><li>Working toward CPA designation is an asset.</li></ul>
