Job Title – AMLOSE232 - Lead Operations Support Engineer
Client – S&P Global
Office location: Canada (Need someone from East coast), Onsite
Type: Full-time with Altimetrik
Description
Candidates need to be strong in Java + AWS. Please note: don’t consider network engineer profiles.
Need debugging skills looking at thread dumps, memory leaks, DB slowness, etc.
Experience
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- L1 & L2 Support: Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a support role (Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Request Management, troubleshooting complex issues in cloud environments).
- Solid hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, AWS Transfer Family, etc.), Java Spring Boot microservices, and cloud monitoring tools.
- Strong grounding in ITIL practices — Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management.
Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of cloud-native application support in AWS.
- Expertise in application monitoring tools (AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog).
- Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills, especially in production environments.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting methodologies and tools for cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, Bash, YAML, Terraform) is a plus.
- Understanding of Java: Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose Java-based applications in cloud environments.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.
- Ownership and accountability for system stability and reliability.
Shift Requirement
- Flexibility to work in rotating shifts for 24/7 support, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
