<p>Focus Microwaves is a leader in electronic test and measurement equipment. Our engineering organization is a premier technical engineering force for test systems used to characterize active RF devices from R&D to production. As a Focus Microwaves Application Engineer (Electronics), you will work with some of the world’s leading technology companies to define and implement the latest trends on power amplifier design.</p><p>We are looking for an Application Engineer (Electronics), ideally with a Technical Degree, who is passionate about engineering. We are on hyper-growth mode, and we are looking for an individual who wants to make an impact working for a game changing company that builds a disruptive product with a mission to innovate.</p><h3>Qualifications</h3><p>This position requires the following skillsets and attributes with an emphasis on technical expertise and communication skills:</p><ol><li>Embedded system design with Microcontroller</li><li>C- Programming skills</li><li>Schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM and Gerber generation, preferably using Eagle.</li><li>Knowledge of the low-level communication protocol (USART, SPI, I2C, CAN)</li><li>Good surface mount soldering skills.</li><li>General prototyping and debugging skills</li><li>Programming of measurement instrument (Visa standard, SPCI commands)</li><li>Analog and digital circuit design.</li><li>Power electronics (MOSFET, switching circuit)</li></ol><p>Additional characteristics of candidates we are seeking for this position include:</p><ol><li>Independent professional that works best under broad and general directions.</li><li>Ability to create a vision and convey the message in a persuasive manner.</li><li>Sociable, people oriented, outgoing, and wants to earn recognition.</li><li>Passion for continuous learning in electronics technology and engineering.</li><li>Ability to develop strong relationships with internal teammates.</li><li>Strong written & verbal communication skills.</li><li>Effective presentation and problem solving skills.</li><li>Must be a Canadian Citizen.</li></ol><p>The candidate will be required to travel 5-10% of his/her time.</p><p>Position Type: Full-time / regular hours</p><h3>Apply now!</h3>
