About the Position

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a Tenure Track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Physical Chemistry beginning July 1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval.


The Department welcomes applicants who have demonstrated excellence in research in Physical Chemistry. Candidates with research interests in experimental physical chemistry with a focus on environmental chemistry or sustainable chemistry are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be assigned to teach undergraduate courses in the Honours Chemistry program and will be expected to contribute teaching for the MSc in Chemistry and PhD in Biological and Chemical Sciences programs. The successful candidate should have excellent potential in both teaching and research and will be expected to attract external funding and develop an active research program including supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. Teaching responsibilities may be multicampus with course delivery at Waterloo, Brantford, and Milton campuses.



Qualifications

Qualifications for the position include a PhD Degree in Chemistry or a closely related field with a focus on physical chemistry, and preferably postdoctoral research experience in this or a related area.
