Bilingual Credit & Collections Representative (French required)


Introduction

Our client is currently seeking a Bilingual Credit & Collections Representative fluent in French and English to join their stable and well-established team in Mississauga. This is a full-time, in-office role ideal for someone who values predictability, structure, and the opportunity to support clients with professionalism and care in a finance-focused environment.


What You'll Do

You will manage your own portfolio of customer accounts, performing collection calls, resolving payment issues, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Your attention to detail and calm communication style will help maintain the financial health of the organization while supporting a positive customer experience.


Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming and outgoing collection calls for early and late-stage accounts
  • Monitor and maintain your assigned customer portfolio
  • Communicate with customers by phone and email to resolve overdue accounts
  • Perform account reconciliations and respond to inquiries professionally
  • Release orders after credit review and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with sales and branch managers on escalated payment issues
  • Open and maintain customer accounts with accurate documentation
  • Complete special reporting and projects as assigned by your supervisor
  • Support internal teams and promote healthy payment strategies
  • Occasionally visit other branches if needed (minimal travel)


Qualifications

  • Fluency in both English and French is required
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, business, or a related field
  • 2+ years of accounting or finance experience; 3+ years in collections preferred
  • Familiarity with accounting software and procurement portals such as COUPA or ARIBA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be able to commute to the Mississauga office 5 days per week
