<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>JOB FUNCTION</strong><br />Under the supervision of the Service Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible to organize and coordinate all logistics for a youth conference. They will promote and market the youth conference to the youth and community. They will work collaboratively with the Society and Educational Institutions to identify youth at risk and provide mentorship to maximize opportunities to succeed and/or transition to post- secondary education, training and employment or apprenticeship options.<br><br><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><br /><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p><ul><li>Post-secondary degree or diploma in Social Services or Education preferred.</li><li>Candidates must possess a minimum of a two (2) year Child and Youth Worker diploma or a diploma in a related field with related work experience to be considered.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum one (1) year of Child Welfare experience.</li><li>Experience with Social System navigation.</li><li>Experience working with Youth considered an asset.</li><li>Experience in the field of education considered an asset.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide program support through maintaining community inventory to include all programs, initiatives and serves relating to education.</li><li>Provide updates to Ontario Education Championship Team.</li><li>Event Coordination including plan and hold a conference to increase awareness of opportunities for youth (post-secondary opportunities, career options, training related to trades, etc.).</li><li>Develop and foster a relationship with Crown Ward Youth to increase their academic attendance, engagement and involvement.</li><li>Provide support by discussing with youth their progress.</li><li>Counsel multi-barrier individuals regarding education, career planning and employment.</li><li>Develop appropriate action plans that will provide appropriate opportunities and supports.</li><li>Network with community agencies, and schools, acquire new knowledge by participating in community programs with youth serving organizations, schools, and the community at large.</li><li>Provide updates to the Ontario Education Championship Team regarding Program Support (compile monthly statistical information, etc.).</li><li>Perform other related duties as may be required.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French required.</li><li>Knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, other relevant legislation, regulations, Ministry standards, and agency policies and procedures.</li><li>Good understanding of the agency’s values, service philosophy and objectives.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, integrating the principles of equity, justice, non-discrimination and accessibility into practice, service delivery and team relationships.</li><li>Solid knowledge of community resources, educational institutions and employment related programs and services.</li><li>Superior <span >presentation/facilitation</span> skills.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.</li><li>Demonstrated interpersonal and collaboration skills to liaise effectively with colleagues, community professionals, and the public.</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality of agency and client information.</li><li>Proficiency in using various computer programs and agency software systems.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to build and strengthen relationships with individuals, organizations and key stakeholders.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.</li><li>Demonstrated problem solving, planning and priority-setting skills.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership within an education setting.</li><li>Ability to maintain the appropriate safeguards for the confidentiality of Agency and client information.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced work environment and to deal with stressful situations.</li><li>Possess and maintain a valid “G” Driver’s License and personal insurance coverage with access to a reliable vehicle.</li><li>Provide a negative criminal record check inclusive of a vulnerable sector screen.</li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
