Business Analyst

Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to join their Technology team in Toronto. As a member of the technology team, you will work with key stakeholders to align technology solutions with business strategies. Your focus will be to gather requirements from business units and to work with the technical team to develop/recommend solutions. You will take a strategic view of the application portfolio and establish a longer-term vision for the evolution of applications to support the evolving business needs.

This is a hybrid position and candidates must be able to work 5 days in the office, located in Downtown Toronto.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions. Evaluating business processes, eliciting requirements,
    uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions
  • Elicit, analyze, and validate the business needs of stakeholders and business users
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements
  • Conduct market research to identify applications that meet requirements.
  • Lead the analysis and selection of vendor software solutions to ensure feature and functions meet business requirements
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, users, and technical teams
  • Develops and utilizes standard templates to write requirements specifications accurately and concisely
  • Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary
  • Communicates change, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or
    through written documentation — to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that
    issues and solutions are understood
  • Guide the business users in testing the solutions

REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in business analysis in alternative asset management industry
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage business processes including origination, onboarding, underwriting and servicing
  • Experience with Yardi and other mortgage servicing software will be an asset
  • Knowledge of accounting will be an asset
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in business process management tools necessary for projects
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts, business
    models, and technologies

 

COMPENSATION

  • Base salary range of $130,000-$140,000
  • Total compensation includes salary, variable discretionary bonus, benefits, & other perks.
