<ul>
<li>Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders</li>
<li>Diagnose psychiatric disorders</li>
<li>May conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods</li>
<li>Prescribe medication and treatment</li>
<li>Refer patients for surgery</li>
<li>Treat diseases and physiological disorders</li>
<li>Treat psychiatric disorders</li>
<li>Conduct microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens</li>
<li>Prepare research papers for publication and presentation</li>
<li>Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases</li>
<li>Supervise laboratory activities</li>
<li>Act as consultants to other physicians</li>
<li>Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures</li>
