<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>360°ree;kids has been a leader in the delivery of innovative support services for over 30 years as we work to improve the lives of homeless and at-risk youth and families in York Region. We are a vitally important community agency serving all of York Region. At 360°ree;kids, we provide a unique continuum of care approach with a range of programs and services that are essential to the health and well-being of youth and that are proven strategies for helping to keep youth off the streets by providing safe housing options.</p><p><br />The Community Liaison Worker will support the work of the 360°ree;kids Youth Hub in developing and sustaining positive relationships with community members. They will be responsible for ensuring staff have the tools to work with the community, that the community has a contact within the agency to share concerns with, and establish our presence as a positive presence in the Richmond Hill community. The Community Liaison worker will understand the unique needs of both the youth served at the Hub as well as the needs of surrounding community, and work with both to strive towards peaceful interdependence.<br><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Works to ensure staff understand the role we play in our community.</li><li>Ensures there are processes in place to prevent youth from loitering, causing damage, and negatively impacting our neighbours.</li><li>Supports staff in completing rounds.</li><li>Supports staff in ensuring youth are not loitering outside of the Hub property after Home Base has closed.</li><li>Supports in the development and implementation of strategies for the Youth Hub to be active participants in the Richmond Hill Community.</li><li>Connects youth to relevant supports and services.</li><li>Work in consultation with HUB Team Lead to select and facilitate activities aimed at achieving the desired outcomes of the program as outlined in the program plan.</li><li>Works with the HUB Team Lead to ensure that the Home Base programs are in line with the stated mission and vision of the organization.</li><li>Works to establish a positive presence in the Richmond Hill Community.</li><li>Creates and attends local community meetings.</li><li>Develops opportunities for the community and the staff and youth of the Youth Hub to connect in positive ways.</li><li>Acts as a contact person for community members who have concerns or feedback.</li><li>Completes all mandatory recording and reporting including daily documentation, statistical data collection and completing registration forms. Provides reports and related information to the Team Leader and/or Manager of Programs as required.</li><li>Attends training workshops and relevant conferences that pertain to the role.</li><li>Follows appropriate policies and procedures of 360°ree;kids. Ensures that the program operates in line with 360°ree;kids’ mission, vision and value and activities comply with applicable standards and laws.<br><br></li></ul><p><strong>Education & Skills required:</strong></p><ul><li>Post-Secondary degree/diploma in a Child/youth related field (e.g. Child and Youth, Social Service Worker, Social Worker, Psychology, Sociology) or the equivalent combination of education and experience working with youth.</li><li>Minimum of three years’ experience working with “at-risk” or street involved youth. Previous experience in community facing roles is an asset. </li><li>Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training, suicide prevention training, is an asset.</li><li>Current First Aid/CPR certification. Current BRC(Broad record check ).</li><li>Car and valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.</li><li>Thorough understanding of issues pertaining to youth and knowledge of relevant legislation.</li><li>Thorough understanding of and sensitivity to adolescent development and the life experiences/needs of youth in the community.</li><li>Client focused counselling skills with the ability to be adaptable with a flexible approach taking into consideration the unique qualities of each client.</li><li>Must possess excellent communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills that promote positive team building, negotiation, and conflict resolution.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently with groups of youth and collaboratively in a community and with a team of service providers.</li><li>Broad knowledge of community resources and the ability to strongly advocate for clients and professional referrals.</li><li>Experience related to the engagement of high-risk youth with a focus on working with families.<br><br></li></ul><p><strong>This job posting is for an existing vacancy within our organization .
