<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Construction Equipment Manager</strong><br /><strong>Mississauga, Ontario</strong><br /><strong>Employment Type: Full-Time</strong><br /><strong>$110-$125K, based on experienced</strong><br><br><strong>Position Overview:</strong><br />We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Equipment Manager to oversee the daily operations of a mixed construction fleet and manage the shop team responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance. This role will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all fleet maintenance activities, as well as ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, and safety compliance. The Equipment Manager will work closely with two Field Superintendents and report directly to the Controller.<br><br><strong>Fleet Overview:</strong></p><ul><li>Approx. 60 pieces of heavy iron</li><li>3–4 triaxle dump trucks</li><li>Tag-along trailer</li><li>20+ light-duty vehicles (pickups/SUVs)</li><li>Small tools and equipment</li></ul><p><strong>Direct Reports:</strong></p><ul><li>2–3 Mechanics</li><li>1 Shop-HandKey</li></ul><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee all day-to-day equipment repairs and preventative maintenance</li><li>Schedule and assign daily tasks for shop personnel; manage workloads efficiently</li><li>Coordinate with site teams to plan equipment availability and minimize downtime</li><li>Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including CVOR and inspection requirements</li><li>Manage work orders (manual and electronic), documentation, and maintenance logs</li><li>Track fleet performance and ensure adherence to manufacturers&#39; maintenance guidelines</li><li>Coordinate third-party vendors, subcontractors, and purchasing of parts/consumables</li><li>Monitor and improve shop and yard organization, cleanliness, and general upkeep</li><li>Handle transportation logistics, equipment floats, and insurance requirements</li><li>Train, mentor, and develop mechanics and shop team members</li><li>Oversee CVOR updates and permit renewals</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of experience managing fleet operations or heavy equipment maintenance in a construction or industrial environment</li><li>Proven experience leading a team of mechanics or shop personnel</li><li>Solid understanding of CVOR compliance, safety inspections, and preventative maintenance scheduling</li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills</li><li>Familiar with inventory tracking, work order systems, and maintenance documentation</li><li>Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot, and adapt in a fast-paced, hands-on environment</li><li>Valid driver&#39;s license required; relevant certifications or trade background an asset</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Why Join Us:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive compensation and benefits</li><li>Be part of a team-oriented company where your experience and insight are valued</li><li>Opportunity to take ownership of a well-established fleet and shop operations</li><li>Collaborate directly with leadership in a supportive and respectful work environment</li></ul><p><strong>Keywords</strong><br />Civil Construction, Linear Construction, Water Sewer, Watermain, Earthworks, Construction Equipment, Equipment Manager</p><p>If you feel this role as a Construction Equipment Manager is right for you, click apply!<br />Please note that only those selected for interview will be contacted.</p></p></p>
