The Team: Financial Risk Analytics (FRA) delivers enterprise risk solutions to some of the largest firms in the financial services industry, and is part of S&P Global, a dynamic entrepreneurial company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
FRA is currently investing in their technology platform to develop a number of new revenue generating products, leveraging open source and big data technologies. These include visualization, risk aggregation and smart data initiatives that address new data, risk and regulatory requirements and are highly visible and strategic within the organization. FRA also uses successful conventional technologies such as distributed computing based on grids, large data formats, and message queue for both batch and real-time what-if type calculations.
These initiatives are using best of breed technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, HDFS, HBase, Cassandra along with in-house developed technologies, and the successful candidate will be working in a fast paced, dynamic team environment, building commercial products which are at the heart of the business.
The Customer Experience team is responsible for delivering our solutions to customers across EMEA, Americas and APAC regions.
Responsibilities and Impact: This position is for a Toronto-based Consultant working with FRA customers across North America. In addition to the detailed job description below, client relationship management is an important requirement of the role. Ensuring a high level of satisfaction through effective management of client needs is a core part of consulting in FRA.
- Manage a portfolio of FRA prospects and clients in managing and controlling a wide variety of project activities.
- Balance the resourcing schedule for in-progress and planned project work.
- Provide an ongoing risk management capability for the business.
- Prioritize tasks and effectively manage day to day issues.
- Problem solving through Python scripting.
- Includes taking complete ownership of the steps that needs to be taken to deliver daily results to clients.
- Quality check input and output data, including development and implementation of Python scripts.
- Respond to client requests by providing detailed analysis and feedback.
What we’re looking for:
- University degree.
- Prince 2 qualified or equivalent experience preferable.
- Understanding of financial markets, financial instruments and risk management is essential.
- Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced business environment managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Adept at building and maintaining trusted and respected relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Able to positively engage with, and contribute to, the wider global team.
