Job Description:
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for building the accounting infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee the transition from Quick Books to a more robust real estate accounting platform (likely Newstar/REMS) and ensure all financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks are properly implemented from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and manage the full accounting function for a new real estate entity
Lead the migration from Quick Books to a real estate-specific system
Establish financial controls, reporting structures, and month-end processes
Support transaction-related financial requirements tied to asset sales
Work closely with senior leadership and external advisors TMGCT
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Controller or Director of Finance in real estate
CPA Designation
Strong understanding of development, construction, or property accounting
Experience implementing or migrating to real estate accounting systems (Newstar REMS an asset)
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, build-from-scratch environment
