Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a motivated Legal Counsel to join their team. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the CEO, CFO, and Managing Directors. This role requires an organized and critical thinker who assists the company in all aspects of its risk analysis. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work within a dynamic team are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external counsel and internal team members on deal-related activities.
- Draft, negotiate, maintain, and organize corporate documents, including NDAs and Employment Agreements.
- Manage existing agreements, such as partnership agreements, credit agreements, and other legal documents.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including service providers, regulatory bodies, joint venture relationships, and key investors.
- Provide in-house legal, policy, and risk management expertise to support internal legal matters, including HR, operations, and commercial teams on transactions and corporate initiatives.
Qualifications/Core Competencies:
- 3-6 years of full-time legal experience, preferably in corporate, banking, or securities law.
- Fluent in spoken and written English with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent research and writing abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe.
- Must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
