Custodian
Job Description
Job Profile:
The Custodian is responsible for cleaning areas of the various locations and office buildings.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow procedures for the use of all chemical cleaners.
- Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner
- Clean building floors and stairways by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming
- Empty trash cans and recycling containers
- Dust furniture, window blinds and office equipment
- Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures
- Wash windows and blinds using appropriate cleaners and squeegees
- Notify management concerning the need for major repairs to buildings
- Remove snow and ice from walkways, doorways using snow shovels and spread snow melting chemicals
- Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
General Expectations:
- Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations
- Instill a safety culture; lead by example
- Identify and record non-conformities and participate in their resolution
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Recommend improvements and develop improvement plans in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions
- Maintain a well-organized and clean facility as per PMP vision
- Maintain all equipment and tools per recommended procedures
- Ability to work as a respectable, professional and efficient team member
- Maintain a healthy work environment and develop employees on a professional level
Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 or GED
- One year janitorial experience
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products with a willingness to learn
Shifts:
Part Time - 20 hours per week
Full Time - 40 hours per week
