<p>Overview</p><p>The Ontario Public Service (OPS) is seeking an experienced DevOps/Cloud Engineer to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based digital products and enterprise applications. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in cloud architecture, DevSecOps pipeline development, automation, and infrastructure management across modern, scalable environments.</p><p>ResponsibilitiesCloud Engineering & Platform Development</p><ul><li>Design, build, and support cloud environments enabling digital product development.</li><li>Develop, update, and manage service templates for cloud resource provisioning.</li><li>Create, test, and implement safeguards to maintain data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.</li><li>Monitor and assess performance of cloud applications, ensuring continuous availability.</li><li>Design cloud architecture and deployment models aligned with OPS standards.</li><li>Configure and maintain platform components such as logging, monitoring, alerting, auditing, and vulnerability detection.</li></ul><p>DevSecOps & Automation</p><ul><li>Build, maintain, and optimize DevSecOps pipelines for traditional and containerized workloads.</li><li>Enable application runtime environment provisioning using automation tools.</li><li>Implement CI/CD solutions using modern DevSecOps toolchains.</li><li>Set up SAST/DAST and container vulnerability scanning solutions and workflows.</li></ul><p>Operational Support</p><ul><li>Support troubleshooting activities related to platform components and cloud infrastructure.</li><li>Maintain systems used for web technologies, Linux environments, and container platforms.</li><li>Ensure adherence to security standards, architectural guidelines, and OPS best practices.</li></ul><p>Coordination & Communication (20%)</p><ul><li>Coordinate initiatives across technical and business stakeholders.</li><li>Participate in change planning and implementation activities.</li><li>Create and maintain detailed documentation for operations and support procedures.</li></ul><p>Cloud Architecture (30%)</p><ul><li>Deploy and optimize applications on public cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP).</li><li>Build Terraform templates and Ansible playbooks (must-have).</li><li>Work with Kubernetes-based cloud platforms (OpenShift highly desirable).</li><li>Utilize cost models and architectural best practices.</li></ul><p>N-Tier Application Hosting (20%)</p><ul><li>Support traditional n-tier application architectures and infrastructures.</li><li>Work with RHEL, IBM WebSphere/Liberty/NDM, and application/web servers.</li><li>Support FTP/SFTP or Managed File Transfer solutions (asset).</li><li>Exposure to network technologies (firewalls, load balancers, DNS).</li></ul><p>DevSecOps Focus (25%)</p><ul><li>Manage DevSecOps tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, UrbanCode Deploy/Velocity.</li><li>Implement workload scanning and vulnerability mitigation processes.</li></ul><p>Public Sector Experience (5%)</p><ul><li>Experience working with OPS, BPS, or other government agencies is preferred.</li></ul><p>Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)</p><ul><li>DevSecOps pipeline build and maintenance</li><li>Application runtime environment provisioning using automation tools</li><li>Cloud architecture and deployment model design</li><li>Linux shell scripting</li><li>OpenShift administration, Azure PowerShell, and Azure CLI</li><li>Experience building Terraform templates and Ansible playbooks</li><li>Experience with OCP (OpenShift Container Platform)</li></ul><p>Nice to Have</p><ul><li>Relevant cloud and DevOps certifications (Azure, AWS, OpenShift, Terraform, etc.)</li></ul><p>Job Type: Fixed term contract<br><br>Contract length: 12 months</p><p>Pay: From $60.00 per hour</p><p>Application question(s):</p><ul><li>How many years of hands-on experience do you have building and maintaining DevSecOps pipelines?</li><li>How many years of experience do you have working with OpenShift administration, Azure PowerShell, and Azure CLI?</li><li>How many years of experience do you have working with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)?</li><li>How many years of experience do you have designing cloud architectures and deployment models?</li></ul><p>Location:</p><ul><li>North York, ON (preferred)</li></ul><p>Work Location: Hybrid remote in North York, ON</p>
