<b>Location:</b> 4 days onsite, downtown Toronto<br><h2><b>About the Opportunity</b><br></h2><p>On behalf of one of the top banks in Canada, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join them as the <b>Director of Cyber Security Data Governance</b>. This role is responsible for ensuring that data governance practices meet regulatory requirements and industry best standards while driving the successful delivery of regulatory programs across the enterprise.<br></p><h2><b>Key Responsibilities</b><br></h2><ul><li><p>Lead the design, implementation, and execution of data governance initiatives supporting regulatory compliance—covering data classification, data quality, data lifecycle management, and related domains.<br></p></li><li><p>Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, advising stakeholders across the organization.<br></p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain strong partnerships with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to regulatory expectations.<br></p></li><li><p>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate data-related risks within regulatory program delivery.<br></p></li><li><p>Monitor regulatory changes and evaluate their impact on data governance practices, recommending and driving necessary adjustments.<br></p></li><li><p>Champion a culture of data stewardship, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.<br></p></li></ul>
<br><br><h3>Requirements</h3><h2><b>Qualifications</b><br></h2><ul><li><p>10+ years of experience in data protection, cybersecurity, information risk management, or related fields, including 5+ years in leadership roles.<br></p></li><li><p>Demonstrated success executing governance programs within a complex or global environment (financial services experience strongly preferred).<br></p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of data protection frameworks, technologies, and best practices.<br></p></li><li><p>Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic leadership skills.<br></p></li></ul>
