<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Oversee all finance-related matters and lead the accounting team.</li>
<li>Prepare, analyze, and present monthly and annual financial statements and reporting packages to owners and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Develop cash flow projections for individual corporate entities and the corporate group.</li>
<li>Direct the annual preparation of operating budgets, capital budgets, and cash flow statements.</li>
<li>Track actual financial results against budget, highlighting variances to property managers, owners, and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Mentor and develop the accounting team, participating in hiring and termination decisions as needed. Ensure accuracy of work and compliance with all government remittances and deadlines.</li>
<li>Serve as the primary finance liaison for property managers on all finance and property management matters.</li>
<li>Lead weekly management meetings.</li>
<li>Review and approve invoices and purchase orders.</li>
<li>Participate in lease and contract negotiations, and tendering processes.</li>
<li>Contribute to strategic discussions with President and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis</li>
<li>Communicate and negotiate with bankers, mortgage lenders, insurers, and other external parties.</li>
<li>Prepare corporate year-end working paper files for external accountants.</li>
<li>Develop and implement internal financial controls and procedures.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>CPA designation with 5+ years of experience working in industry and / or public accounting.</li>
<li>Must have experience dealing with owner-managed companies (either via public accounting or hands-on industry experience)</li>
<li>Ideally started career in public accounting</li>
<li>Experience with external reporting is ideal</li>
<li>Experience managing a finance team</li>
<li>Strong oral & written communicator</li>

<p>My client is looking for a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to lead all finance-related matters and manage their dedicated accounting team. This is a critical role that will work closely with the President and play a significant part in the continued success of their exciting business.
