The Village of Wentworth Heights has an exciting opportunity for a Director of the Program for Active Living (PAL) to join their team.

• Status: Permanent Full-Time
• Location: 1620 Upper Wentworth St, Hamilton, ON L9B 2W3

The expected hiring range for this is $58,000 to $61,000. This role falls within a broader internal salary band, with growth opportunities based on demonstrated performance.

To be successful as our new Director of the PAL, you will:

  • Have a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
  • Member in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
  • Provide leadership and direction for the development, and evaluation of comprehensive operational policies and programs for the Village PAL program
  • Provide leadership, support and evaluate PAL programs and projects including restorative, restraints, falls, care conferences, and research to practice initiatives
  • Coordinates with external stakeholders including the LHIN regarding OT/PT services, vendor relations for application resident equipment, external service providers for additional therapy/exercise programs
  • Participates in Village interdisciplinary team meetings or committees as appropriate, while communicating and working in collaboration with other interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide leadership to the PAL Coordinator(s) and supports PAL Students, Volunteers and contracted therapy services who assist with the PAL program
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role

It would be an asset if our new Director of the PAL has:

  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting
  • Current Heart Save Level of CPR
