Overview
TRS has an exciting opportunity for a talented Electrical Engineering Manager to join our client's growing team in Calgary, AB! This position is responsible for guiding a team of electrical engineers and overseeing a diverse portfolio of technical projects. The role focuses on driving innovation through new product development while also enhancing and supporting existing technologies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with broader business strategies.
- Monitor team performance using defined metrics and take proactive steps to address gaps or inefficiencies.
- Act as a mentor and coach, supporting professional development and technical growth within the team.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a culture of health and safety excellence.
- Coordinate engineering resources to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and operational objectives.
- Contribute to strategic planning by identifying opportunities for innovation, cost savings, and process improvements.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Implement structured processes for design reviews, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- P.Eng in Alberta
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong background in project and resource management, with a track record of delivering complex technical projects.
- Proficiency in electrical systems design, PLC programming, and power systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and interpersonal.
- Familiarity with experimental design, prototyping, and design-for-manufacture principles.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
