These estimate duties will cover projects for multiple Control Tech branches. </p><p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Develops strategic and competitive plans for each tender, including follow-up and contract negotiations.</li><li>Interprets and analyzes project documentation for throughout understanding.</li><li>Prepares and documents project estimates, researches and obtains cost quotes for parts, material, and labour.</li><li>Prepares initial project estimates, including costs for labour, materials, tools, and equipment.</li><li>Monitors awarded contracts, estimates additional work items and addresses changes.</li><li>Monitors actual costs vs. estimated costs, addresses addendums and change orders.</li><li>Reviews subcontract work lists periodically and maintains tendering process.</li><li>Maintains backup files for estimate figures and assists in database maintenance.</li><li>Develops and maintains relationships with vendors and contractors.</li><li>Assists in maintenance and upgrade of the estimating database including analysis of field feedback on actual work performed.</li><li><span >Participates/complies</span> with company safety programs & company policies.</li><li>Other duties as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Required <span >Skills/Qualifications:</span></strong></p><ul><li>Completion of a postsecondary education electrician training program.</li><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in construction science, engineering, construction management, or related field is considered and asset. </li><li>Trade certification and/or P.Eng / CET, or equivalent industry experience.</li><li>3 years’ construction industry experience.</li><li>Minimum 3 years of demonstrated ability to prepare electrical estimates for projects > 2.5M including lump-sum, target price, and unit rate pricing considered an asset.</li><li>Journeyman electrician or certified electrician an asset; previous experience as an electrician or in this industry is required.</li><li>Relevant estimating professional or project planning certifications and association memberships are considered an asset. </li><li>The ability to interpret GA, PID, 3D models and cable schedules.</li><li>Microsoft Project experience is considered an asset. </li><li>Ability to analyze and solve problems, with knowledge of municipal, provincial regulations, and industry standards.</li><li>Strong analytical, interpretive, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.</li><li>Efficient time management skills. </li><li>Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.</li><li>Ability to travel to sites and builds as required.</li></ul></p></p></p>
