About the Opportunity


WSP is currently seeking an Engineer-in-Training or Civil Technologist/Technician for our Land Development & Municipal Engineering group. This position is based in our Winnipeg office and will involve working on municipal projects for public and private clients, including water and wastewater systems, storm water management, municipal roads, and land development.

What You Can Expect to Do Here



  • Participate in preliminary and detailed design, and drafting of water, sanitary, and drainage systems, roads, grading, and retention ponds.

  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to support projects from concept through completion.

  • Perform design calculations under the supervision of professional engineers.

  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports.

  • Assist with the development of construction drawings, specifications, tender documents, cost estimates, and quantity schedules.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines to integrate design efforts.

  • Engage in design reviews and provide input as needed.


What You’ll Bring to WSP



  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology/Civil Engineering Technician Diploma from an accredited institution.

  • Eligibility for registration with EGM as Engineer-in-Training.

  • Eligibility for registration with CTTAM as a Technologist or Technician.

  • At least 2+ years’ experience in civil design and drafting.

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Familiarity with local municipal standards and approval processes in Manitoba (beneficial).
