<p><b>Job Description</b></p><p><b>ERP Development Manager (Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central, Retail)</b></p><p><br></p><p>A leading <b>retail organization</b> is seeking an <b>ERP Development Manager</b> to lead the modernization of its enterprise ERP landscape. This is a hands-on leadership role for a senior ERP professional who thrives at the intersection of <b>architecture, development, and people leadership</b>.</p><p><br></p><p>You will own the end-to-end migration from <b>Microsoft NAV (on-prem)</b> to <b>Dynamics 365 Business Central (Cloud)</b>, driving technical strategy while remaining actively involved in system design, AL development, integrations, and deployment. This role plays a critical part in enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing ERP solutions that support retail operations across stores, e-commerce, supply chain, and finance.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a <b>full-time, on-site role</b> based at the corporate office in <b>North York</b>.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Role & Responsibilities</b></p><p><br></p><p>ERP Strategy, Architecture & Delivery</p><ul><li>Lead the ERP development roadmap and technical execution for the migration from <b>NAV to Business Central (Cloud)</b></li><li>Analyze, stabilize, and refactor legacy NAV customizations into <b>extension-based BC architecture</b></li><li>Define and govern integration architecture across:</li><li>LS Central / POS</li><li>E-commerce platforms</li><li>CRM and WMS</li><li>Finance, merchandising, supply chain, and inventory systems</li><li>Vendor APIs and retail technologies</li><li>Establish standards for <b>security, telemetry, monitoring, and system performance</b></li></ul><p><br></p><p>Data Migration & Quality</p><ul><li>Own data model mapping (NAV BC, aligned with LS Central)</li><li>Oversee ETL, data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and cutover execution</li><li>Define data governance practices, master data ownership, and quality controls</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Hands-On Engineering Leadership</p><ul><li>Write and review <b>AL / CAL code</b>, optimization strategies, and refactoring efforts</li><li>Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and standardized deployments</li><li>Own environment management (Sandbox, UAT, Production) and branching strategies</li><li>Define unit, regression, and performance testing frameworks</li><li>Establish coding standards, technical documentation, and version control practices</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Team Leadership & Capability Building</p><ul><li>Lead and grow a team of <b>ERP developers</b> (initially 3+, scaling with demand)</li><li>Mentor developers in modern, secure, extension-based BC development</li><li>Embed agile and DevOps best practices (sprint planning, workflow tracking, RCA)</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance</p><ul><li>Act as the primary technical bridge between business leaders and the ERP roadmap</li><li>Lead discovery sessions, design workshops, and technical decision-making forums</li><li>Partner with IT leadership to enforce cybersecurity, compliance, and release governance</li><li>Support incident management, post-mortems, and disaster recovery planning</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Skills & Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><b>7+ years of ERP development experience</b> with Microsoft NAV and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central</li><li>Deep hands-on experience with <b>AL/CAL development</b> and extension-based architecture</li><li>Strong expertise in <b>LS Central / LS Retail</b> and retail ERP / POS ecosystems</li><li>Solid NAV module experience, including:</li><li>Financial Management & General Ledger</li><li>Cost Accounting, Jobs, Scheduler</li><li>Purchasing, Sales & Marketing</li><li>Proven experience leading <b>NAV Business Central migrations</b></li><li>Expert-level integration design across POS, e-commerce, CRM, WMS, finance, and vendor APIs</li><li>Experience with <b>EDI</b>, APIs, and secure integration patterns (OAuth, tokenization, queues)</li><li>Strong understanding of <b>data governance, ETL, reconciliation, and master data management</b></li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and ERP release management</li><li>Knowledge of cloud security best practices (Azure AD, least privilege, access governance)</li><li>Ability to proactively identify and resolve performance and integration risks</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Nice to Have</p><ul><li>Azure services experience (Functions, Service Bus, Key Vault)</li><li>Power BI modeling and retail analytics</li><li>Azure DevOps-based CI/CD automation for ERP deployments</li><li>Magento or similar e-commerce platform integrations</li></ul><p><br></p><p>What's Offered</p><ul><li>A collaborative, high-energy work environment where innovation and ownership are encouraged</li><li>Competitive compensation and <b>comprehensive benefits package</b></li><li>Flexible spending account and wellness-focused benefits</li><li>Employee product discounts</li><li>Ongoing professional development and continuing education</li><li>Clear growth path within a rapidly evolving ERP and retail technology landscape</li><li>Inclusive, people-first culture that values teamwork, transparency, and impact</li></ul><p><br></p><p>For more information, please get in touch!</p><p><br></p><p>Kevin Ong</p><p>R2 Global</p><p>Senior Recruitment Consultant - MS Dynamics 365 F&O/BC</p><p>d: </p><p>e: </p><p></p>
