About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our expense management team. As a Manager, Expense Management, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly spending reports for budget leaders and senior management, as well as consolidating analysis of variance explanations and validating or clarifying with budget leaders as needed.
You will also be responsible for leading the annual lunch and learn budget training of the budget tool (TM1) for the budget leaders and their assistants, supporting budget leaders and their assistants as assigned in completing the salary model and budget inputs, and preparing the analysis and reporting of the budget for budget leaders and senior management.
Additionally, you will oversee intercompany accounting and third-party invoicing, support the Company’s expense-related accounting policies and practices, and lead and mentor the Expense Management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly spending reports for budget leaders and senior management
- Consolidate analysis of variance explanations and validate or clarify with budget leaders as needed
- Lead annual lunch and learn budget training of the budget tool (TM1)
- Support budget leaders and their assistants in completing the salary model and budget inputs
- Prepare analysis and reporting of the budget for budget leaders and senior management
- Oversee intercompany accounting and third-party invoicing
- Support Company’s expense-related accounting policies and practices
- Lead and mentor the Expense Management team
Requirements:
- University degree in business or accounting
- Designated CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation recognized in Canada
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in budgeting and variance analysis
- Leadership and staff management experience required
- Insurance or financial services industry experience an asset
