We are seeking a temporary replacement for an upcoming maternity/parental leave.

Field Manager – Contract (18 months).

Toronto, Vaughan, Brampton, Alliston & Orangeville.

You will contribute to Carlton Cards’ success by maximizing business growth through exceptional customer service to both chain and independent stores within your assigned territory. You will be responsible for thorough planning & preparation, executing daily sales calls, building relationships, communicating store findings, driving incremental display space, daily utilization of all field level tools and the management of a team of merchandisers. You will report to the District Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Sell. Execute. Lead. Contribute to corporate financial goals by achieving service model goals and key metrics as well as manage expense, merchandiser and credit budgets.
  • Execute with excellence including selling & presenting key account, trade marketing, promotions, point-of-sale material and display vehicles.
  • Be an awesome leader to your team of merchandisers and motivate them to do the best job possible to ensure success. Your leadership role will also require you to hire, train and coach your team.
  • Foster relationships and drive growth in all assigned accounts within your territory.
  • Use vision to find opportunity within new and existing accounts.
  • Be the eyes and ears of Carlton Cards at store-level reporting on customer, consumer and competitor activity.


Your Required Skills and Competencies:

  • 1 - 3 years outside sales or retail experience.
  • University degree or college diploma in Business or related field is preferred; or a combination of education and related work experience.
  • Energetic, self-motivated and results orientated with a clear focus on high performance.
  • Strong analytic and negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, as well as demonstrated effective time management skills, including the ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to detail and timely follow up is essential.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of the Greeting Card Industry would be a definite plus!
  • Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Out of town and overnight travel will be required; air travel may include smaller aircrafts.
  • Must possess a valid passport or ability to obtain appropriate travel documents.
