Main functions: Secondary operations in an aluminum foundry:
- Ensure all duties are being performed following safe work practices at all times and do not present a safety hazard to employees.
- Follow scheduling documentation to ensure designated parts are shipped to the next department.
- Remove excess flashing from castings.
- Follow operator's instructions in work packages.
- Move, place and adjust heating torches on molds.
- Ensure that equipment, materials, and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or to the general public.
- Finishing of casting through saw cutting and sanding procedures for gate removal.
- Prep and shake sand cores.
- Relieve Caster.
- Completes work package documentation.
- Clean work areas and equipment.
Working conditions:
- Works 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday.
- Foundry Finisher frequently changing priorities
Employment Requirements:
- WHMIS Certification.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Reliable.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Multi-task.
