In this role, you will be the face of our department, ensuring every customer feels welcomed and leaves with the right solutions for their projects.

**Position Overview**

As a Sales Associate, your primary focus is to provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs. You will not just sell a single product; you will help customers realize their entire project by providing expert advice on features, related items, and adjacent department offerings. You will master the art of greeting, engaging, and thanking customers while solving their specific home improvement challenges.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Customer Service Excellence**
• Execute The Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service: Greet, Engage, and Thank every customer.
• Proactively seek out customers throughout the store and escort them to the appropriate merchandise, regardless of the department.
• Ask open-ended questions to fully understand the customer’s project scope and their level of expertise.
• Promote and recommend various store services, including Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, and Pro Services.

**Driving Sales & Store Operations**
• Offer solution-based selling by discussing available options (good, better, best) and suggesting related items or services outside of your immediate department.
• Educate customers on the full scope of their project to ensure they have everything they need.
• Utilize the empowerment program when necessary to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Execute daily stock maintenance duties, ensuring all products are correctly signed, fully displayed, and clean.

**Professional Growth & Knowledge**
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products within your department and gain basic knowledge of adjacent departments.
• Proactively seek opportunities to learn about new products and store services.

**Safety & Compliance**
• Strictly follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all Loss Prevention policies to maintain store security.

**Qualifications and Skills**

**Education & Experience**
• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of Retail or Trade experience is considered an asset.

**Competencies**
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
• A genuine commitment to Customer Focus and problem-solving.

**Work Environment & Physical Requirements**

**Physical Demands**
• This position requires physical activity including bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving merchandise.

**Working Conditions**
• Flexibility to work a schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
• Work is performed in a warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.
• Frequent exposure to drafts and interior temperature changes due to open doors.

**Reporting Structure**
• This role reports directly to the Department Supervisor.
• There are no travel requirements for this position.

**Compensation**
• Pay Range: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour
