If you think you have what it takes to join our team, we want to meet you!</p><h3>Position</h3><p>Position: Casual Security Officers</p><p>Site: Western Memorial Regional Hospital & surrounding area in Corner Brook, NL</p><h3>Position Details</h3><ul><li>Overtime: Overtime after 48 hours</li><li>Hours: As needed</li><li>Payrate: $19.00/hour</li><li>Posting Date: July 15, 2025</li><li>Internal Closing Date: August 8, 2025</li><li>External Closing Date: August 8, 2025</li></ul><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Patrol Hospital Grounds: conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits.</li><li>Monitor Surveillance Systems: operate security cameras and alarm systems and report suspicious activity promptly.</li><li>Access Control: monitor and control entry points to ensure only authorized individuals access restricted areas.</li><li>Respond to Emergencies: act quickly in medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats and assist staff during crises and evacuations.</li><li>Provide Customer Service: greet visitors, patients, and staff; give directions and ensure policy adherence.</li><li>Conflict Resolution: de-escalate tense situations and handle interactions calmly and professionally.</li><li>Report Writing: document daily activities and incidents accurately; complete incident reports as needed.</li><li>Collaboration: work with hospital staff and local law enforcement for coordinated security.</li><li>Enforce Policies: uphold hospital safety standards and address violations appropriately.</li></ul><h3>Prerequisites</h3><ul><li>Clear Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check</li><li>Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C</li><li>Covid Vaccine two doses</li><li>Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two-step TB test</li><li>Valid Class 5 Driver License; willing to travel to sites within reasonable driving distance</li><li>English (oral and written) fluency</li><li>Previous security, law enforcement, or related experience preferred</li><li>Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) required or willing to complete Paladin training prior to onboarding</li><li>UOF/MOAB training costs covered by Paladin with a 6-month commitment</li></ul><h3>Education & Certifications</h3><ul><li>Education: High School Diploma</li><li>Certification: Standard First Aid, CPR Level C; Code of Conduct/Vulnerable Sector Check</li></ul><h3>Benefits & Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Training and professional development opportunities</li><li>Competitive wage and benefits package</li><li>Free uniforms</li><li>Code of Conduct reimbursement</li><li>Dry cleaning & hemming/tailoring allowance</li><li>Paid vacation & sick days</li><li>Additional perks</li></ul><p>We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those shortlisted will be contacted for an interview.</p></p>
