What You'll Do:


As a key team member of our department, you will be responsible for performing all housekeeping and cleaning activities within established guidelines. Your responsibilities include:

  • Following the cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) as outlined for the housekeeping department.
  • Cleaning assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established procedures, including floors (dry mopping, wet mopping, sweeping), dusting, and washing/disinfecting surfaces.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting resident, private, public, and staff bathrooms, replenishing supplies, and washing windows and mirrors.
  • Performing emergency housekeeping when accidents occur.
  • Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles and ashtrays, and removing and disposing of garbage.
  • Performing cleaning duties in resident rooms following discharge and preparing the room for new occupants.
  • Washing, folding, ironing, and delivering laundry as required.
  • Inspecting furnishings for wear and defects and reporting observations to the supervisor concerning structural and equipment wear, defects, and malfunctions.
  • Adhering to all policy and procedures including quality assurance, safety, and infection control.
  • Demonstrating personal attributes and communication skills that foster customer satisfaction at all times.


Who You Are:


We're looking for an individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining a pristine living environment for our residents. You'll also need:

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Good communication skills, especially with seniors.
  • Understanding of chemicals and equipment used in cleaning would be an asset.
  • The ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including:
  • Considerable lifting, stretching, reaching, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and bending.
  • Lifting alone, a maximum of 40 lbs (5-25 lbs usual).
  • Standing and walking for lengths of time as an essential job function.

Compensation Package:$19.10 CAD per hour+ discretionary bonus eligibility.
