IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY

Interim Executive Advisor - HRMS

Reports To: Chief Human Resources Officer

Duration: 6 - 12 Months

Location: GTA (Hybrid)


This is an exciting and critical interim engagement as the program manager will be a key strategic advisor to the CHRO and the CEO with direct responsibility for the turnaround and successful reintegration of a Workday and UKG implementation that has previously failed to meet its objectives. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in project recovery, stakeholder management, and HR technology transformation.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Recovery & Analysis:

  • Lead a comprehensive review of the initial Workday and UKG implementation, working closely with a Big 4 partner and other key stakeholders to identify root causes of failure.
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews to gather insights from all impacted parties.
  • Document and communication lessons learned to executive leadership.


Roadmap Development & Reintegration:

  • Develop a clear, actionable roadmap for bringing the project back on track, focusing on rapid stabilization and sustainable success.
  • Prioritize the adoption of centralized scheduling and standardized processes, eliminating unnecessary customizations that contributed to previous challenges.
  • Ensure all solutions align with industry's best practices and regulatory requirements.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal teams (HR, IT, Finance), and external partners to drive alignment and accountability.
  • Establish transparent governance structures and regular communication channels.


Process Reengineering:

  • Lead efforts to reengineer business processes, leveraging Workday and UKG's out-of-the-box capabilities wherever possible.
  • Drive change management initiatives to support staff adoption and minimize resistance.


Resource Leadership & Executive Support:

  • Quarterback internal and external resources, ensuring all parties are aligned, engaged, and working toward common objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between external partners, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide proactive support to the executive sponsor, ensuring their vision and priorities are reflected in all project activities.


Project Planning & Ownership

  • Deliver a realistic, detailed timeline and project plan for reintegration, based on thorough analysis and stakeholder input.
  • Take full ownership of the reintegration plan, driving execution and holding all contributors accountable for milestones and deliverables.


Risk Management & Reporting

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with reintegration.
  • Provide regular progress updates, actionable insights, and escalation of critical issues to executive sponsors.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated success in recovering and delivering complex HRIS projects (Workday and/or UKG), with 3,000 users plus in complex centralized scheduling environments.
  • Experience working with major consulting partners on large-scale system implementations.
  • Strong background in project management, process reengineering, and change management.
  • Proven ability to drive adoption of standardized solutions and reduce system complexity.
  • Project Recovery: Expertise in turnaround strategies for failed technology projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Workday HCM, UKG Pro/Kronos, and integrations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to influence and align diverse groups, including external consultants.
  • Process Optimization: Skilled in process mapping, reengineering, and best practice adoption.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills for executive-level reporting.
