This role offers a dynamic work environment with exposure to complex legal matters and collaboration with a professional legal team.</p>Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Conduct conflict checks and manage file openings/closings.</li><li>Perform database searches using industry-standard tools.</li><li>Draft and finalize demand letters and various legal correspondences.</li><li>File court documents electronically and track service of legal documents.</li><li>Prepare affidavits, notices, and legal forms required for court.</li><li>Coordinate with court staff to confirm motion dates.</li><li>Compile and organize motion records, factums, and legal briefs.</li><li>Upload and hyperlink court documents per regional practice guidelines.</li><li>Manage skip trace requests and legal communications with stakeholders.</li><li>Assist with billing processes, including preparation of prebills and final invoices.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Minimum 3 years of experience in a litigation department, ideally in creditor rights or recovery.</li><li>Proven experience in bank recovery; proficiency in drafting and filing pleadings, default judgments, writs, garnishments, and motion records.</li><li>Proficient with legal platforms like JSO and Case Centre.</li><li>Familiarity with court rules, legal documentation, and electronic filing procedures.</li><li>Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.</li><li>Capable of prioritizing tasks in a high-paced legal setting.</li><li>A collaborative, self-motivated attitude with attention to detail.</li></ul>Top 3 Skill Sets Required<ol><li>Litigation document preparation and court filing procedures.</li><li>Proficiency in legal software and research tools.</li><li>Strong time management and communication skills.</li></ol>Why North York?<p>North York offers the benefits of city living without the downtown congestion.
