We strive to build a work environment where safety, respect, commitment, success, and fun are driving principles.<br><br>Position Summary:<br> We're looking for a skilled Machine Maintenance Technician who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. In this role, you'll ensure the smooth operation of production equipment and facility systems through preventive and corrective maintenance. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and keep our production running efficiently.<br><br>This full-time, on-site position requires someone with strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage both scheduled maintenance and urgent repairs.<br><br>
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Proactively and efficiently responds to work order demands as issued to ensure business and production needs are not interrupted.</li><li>Performs a variety of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance duties throughout each location by cleaning, repairing, and servicing equipment as necessary, including but not limited to replacing saw blades, monitoring facility upkeep, and ensuring proper housekeeping procedures are in place.</li><li>Completes assigned work orders and preventative maintenance recording results in the database, ensuring closure of orders in a timely manner; escalates issues to the Production supervisor or Director of operations as required. </li><li>Conducts periodic inspections, tests, and preventative maintenance schedules and reports findings. </li><li>Interprets mechanical and/or electrical schematics, sketches, manuals, specifications, and written and oral instructions. </li><li>Adheres to all health and safety protocols, company rules, best practices, and applicable legislation, including lock-out, tag-out procedures, and PPE requirements. </li><li>Follows flexible work schedule, ensuring production requirements are met.</li><li>Follows up with third-party vendors and external service providers as needed to ensure timely completion of repairs. </li><li>Maintains inventory of spare parts, ensuring accuracy, an updated directory, and management of supply, ensuring sufficient parts on hand.</li><li> Maintaining a regular calendar of monthly and annual equipment inspections and repairs. </li><li>Completes reports and associated documentation to review with management. </li><li>Other tasks as assigned.</li></ul>
Skills and Requirements:<ul><li>Proven background as a Maintenance or Machine Technician, ideally in a windows and doors manufacturing setting.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems and experience working with industrial machinery.</li><li>Skilled in using hand and power tools to perform maintenance and repairs.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.</li><li>Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail with a proactive approach.</li><li>Willingness to work extended hours or be available for emergency maintenance needs.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and database systems for record keeping.</li><li>Physically fit to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the shift.</li></ul>
Education & Experience:<ul><li>Post-secondary education or relevant trades certification required.</li><li>Millwright certification and/or Mechanical Engineering degree would be an asset.</li><li>Minimum 4+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>Previous experience leading maintenance projects or teams is an advantage.</li></ul>
