Purpose
We are currently recruiting for a Manager II, Procurement Contracts – a full‑time position based in Markham, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Manage contracting department team members, directing work directly.
- Complete contract assignments for all phases of contractual undertakings.
- Complete prime contract flowdowns as required by Projects.
- Recognize and resolve conflict.
- Maintain advanced understanding of systems, processes and tools related to the field.
- Assist others and troubleshoot issues.
- Visualize and design new concepts and ideas related to the functional area of expertise; apply broad knowledge of business operations and lead organizational change effectively.
- Effectively communicate and present complex program proposals and reports to executive‑level management; persuade and influence others.
- Develop contracting plan and strategy for large/mega Projects.
- Manage all contract activity for customers on multiple Projects, including travel to customer offices or project sites as required.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of contract administration; coordinate with affected groups for support in contract administration, proposal preparation and negotiations.
- Review RFPs to identify risks and terms that may not conform to company policy.
- Negotiate complex or sensitive issues with customer management.
- Formulate and issue construction contracts of all sizes and scopes.
- Pre‑qualify and prepare lists of bidders; evaluate bids, prepare contracts and bid documents.
- Interview contractors and potential contractors; make appropriate recommendations.
- Prepare commercial summaries and letters of recommendation; administer contracts (correspondence, progress minutes, filing, change management, performance measurement); monitor contractors’ performance and approve progress invoices.
- Communicate with customers to secure approvals; interact with engineering and construction departments to comply with terms, revisions and amendments.
- Participate in contract termination, claims or dispute settlements, conduct close‑out review and process back‑changes.
What You Will Bring
Technical and Industry Experience
- Mid‑level relevant experience including supervisory, project management and/or technical experience.
- Experience working with large EPCM projects, mining scope of work and managing mining contractors.

Required
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
- BA/BS degree in a related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
