The Opportunity
In our business, it’s all about the people. BrandActive is currently seeking a Manager, People and Organizational Effectiveness (OE) to play a key role in overseeing and evolving our talent management practices and creating an outstanding team member experience.
As a member of our best-in-class People and Culture team, you will take a lead role in the design, implementation and evolution of our talent management programs and initiatives. You will work directly with people leaders and handle all employee relations requests across the organization in alignment with our existing policies and procedures, while seeking opportunities to continuously improve.
We are looking for a confident People and Culture professional, well-versed in all aspects of the discipline. The ability to build strong relationships and demonstrate agility, creativity, sound judgement and independent thinking are essential. Since this position requires managing multiple priorities, deadlines and projects, being a master of time management and comfort with pivoting is required. Reporting to the Director, People and Organizational Effectiveness (OE), the Manager will:
Responsibilities
Program management
- Design, deliver and iterate talent management programs to support the success of the business and continuously elevate the team member experience
- Responsible for managing BrandActive’s total rewards program, including pay bands, benefits programs, compensation reviews, wellbeing and learning benefits, ensuring that the company remains competitive
- Responsible for the ActiveLeader program planning and execution, ensuring that it enhances the team member experience and drives a growth-oriented organization, including owning People Leader Core competency training
- Responsible for our appreciation, recognition and engagement initiatives, including our service award policy and process, appreciation board engagement while staying in tune with team member sentiment and experience and finding ways to continuously improve
- Responsible for the Clifton Strengths program, including handling as part of the onboarding process, manager reports, people adding top 5 to BambooHR, integrating Clifton Strengths into our business operations
- Responsible for onboarding program ensuring that new hires have a seamless experience in alignment with our BAX and compliance at every step, making recommendations to improve the process and experience
People partner support and operations
- Act as a cultural champion and the go-to person for answering questions related to company policy/process more broadly at the Company, handling day-to-day people team inquiries and escalating more complex or risk-related inquires
- Act as a trusted advisor to people leaders (Managers and Senior Managers) supporting with performance management, compensation, team member development, communications, employee relations, workforce planning and recruiting, and other people-related matters – this often involves complex and highly sensitive issues calling for complete discretion and diplomacy
- Responsible for enabling a high performing, growth-driven organization through one-on-one meetings with People Leaders on an as needed basis as part of performance management practices and supporting team member development
- Oversee the administration of ActiveDevelopment, ensuring people are submitting feedback requests, setting development objectives and offering support
- Handle all employee life-cycle requests for the team member group that you are the people partner for, assisting the Director, People and OE as requested, including but not limited to onboarding, offboarding, managing leaves, return to work, accommodations and work away requests
- Manage the Team Member Handbook and all our department-owned policies and processes, ensuring they are accurate and updated based on business needs or legislative requirements in the states and provinces we operate within, seeking opportunities for our team to work smarter, faster, better, flagging any trends or risks and making recommendations
- Ensure people team documents for team members and templates (i.e. offer letters, termination letters, letters of employment, PIP documents etc.) treated with the upmost confidentiality, are up to date, flagging any inconsistencies and ensuring compliance with legislation, stays up to date on new and developing legislation to advise of any changes required
- Responsible for supporting with the administration of BambooHR, our HRIS system, auditing regularly to ensure that profiles have been set-up accurately, including all documents signed and that changes to the system are managed correctly (i.e. leaves, compensation changes, time off balances etc.), flagging any inconsistencies to the Director, People and OE and resolving them within a timely manner
- Assist with pulse survey administration by providing input and executing on pulse survey action plans, supporting with driving engagement and drafting communications for pulse survey participation
- Responsible for administering our annual calibration process, including determining dates, drafting communications, preparing People Leaders for meetings, hosting training sessions, and working with Admin to schedule meetings
- May oversee the work of more junior team members as directed, and other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- You have 5 to 7+ years of progressive relevant experience preferably in a small to medium-sized entrepreneurial business
- You have excellent and in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, concepts, policies, and practices across the full range of People and Culture disciplines
- You have demonstrated experience designing and implementing talent management programs and practices
- You have demonstrated experience coaching people managers in all things people-related, specifically performance and development
- You demonstrated experience managing projects
- You have experience with and a commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- You have experience working with an HRIS system (we use BambooHR)
- You are a designation holder (CPHR, CHRP)
