The PSS branch provides policy advice and analysis on a broad range of fiscal issues, often leading and participating in high-profile cross-ministry special projects. The team monitors and analyzes fiscal developments and trends across Canadian jurisdictions, including relevant policy developments with significant longer-term fiscal implications for the province.

Your work will involve analyzing public policy developments, drafting policy documents such as Cabinet Reports and briefing materials, and developing sophisticated computerized models to simulate policy scenarios.
Beyond analysis, you will lead the evaluation of policy outcomes, ensuring that Alberta’s legislation remains consistent with evolving provincial policies.
