Job Overview
Reporting to the Chief Operation Manager, the Operation Manager is a full-time, on-site position (5 days per week), based at our North American manufacturing facility.
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure efficient use of resources while meeting customer demand, quality standards, and delivery commitments. This role works closely with Purchasing, Customer Service, Production, and Supply Chain partners, both locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and release production orders to the shop floor in alignment with customer demand and capacity
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address changes, constraints, or priorities
- Communicate production plans, timelines, and schedule changes to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components
- Submit, track, and follow up on purchase orders with approved vendors and suppliers
- Coordinate with domestic and international suppliers to support production requirements
- Maintain accurate production, inventory, and material planning data within the ERP system
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and waste reduction
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards, company policies, and environmental regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing coordination, or supply chain operations
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP experience considered an asset)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Solid understanding of inventory management and material planning
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team
- Adaptable and flexible, with strong interpersonal skills in a diverse work environment
- Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred
