<p>Location: Calgary, AB (On-site)</p><p>Employment Type: Contract / Part-Time (1-5 days per week)</p><p>Compensation: CAD $25-$40 per hour (based on demonstrated capability)</p><p><br></p><p><b>About the Role</b></p><p>We are a specialized engineering and testing operation supporting qualification and validation testing of downhole tools.</p><p>This is not a general shop or labor role.</p><p>This position sits at the intersection of <b>mechanical engineering</b> intent and physical execution. You will be responsible for accurately translating engineering drawings and test procedures into real-world assembly, testing, and teardown of high-value equipment. Precision, discipline, and technical judgment are mandatory.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Interpret and execute complex mechanical engineering drawings, including section views, tolerances, and assembly notes</li><li>Assemble, disassemble, and redress downhole tools and large mechanical test fixtures.</li><li>Perform high-pressure hydraulic and functional testing in a controlled facility.</li><li>Safely rig and handle large assemblies using forklifts, cranes, and lifting fixtures</li><li>Follow detailed test procedures exactly and identify discrepancies or risks before execution.</li><li>Capture and document test data clearly (pressures, cycles, results) using Excel and structured logs.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-first testing environment</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Mandatory Qualifications (Please Read Carefully)</b></p><p><b>Technical Education</b></p><ul><li>Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technician, or equivalent</li><li>Candidates without formal technical education will not be considered</li></ul><p><b>Drawing Literacy</b></p><ul><li>Proven ability to independently read and execute detailed mechanical engineering drawings</li><li>Comfortable working from BOMs, tolerances, and controlled procedures</li></ul><p><b>Relevant Experience</b></p><ul><li>Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with <b>downhole tools</b></li><li>Experience with hydraulic or pressure testing strongly preferred</li></ul><p><b>Physical Capability</b></p><ul><li>Able to perform physically demanding work, including rigging, lifting, and manual assembly</li><li>Comfortable working with large, heavy components</li></ul><p><b>Equipment Handling</b></p><ul><li>Demonstrated safe operation of forklifts and lifting equipment</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Critical Attributes</b></p><ul><li>Extremely detail-oriented; mistakes are rare and unacceptable</li><li>Methodical, disciplined, and procedure-driven</li><li>Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision</li><li>Willing to stop work and escalate when something is unclear or unsafe</li><li>Takes personal ownership of quality and safety</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>What This Role Is Not</b></p><ul><li>Not a general labor or helper position</li><li>Not suitable for candidates who rely on "learning as they go".</li><li>Not tolerant of repeated mistakes or procedural shortcuts</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Engagement Details</b></p><ul><li>Flexible part-time schedule (1-5 days per week)</li><li>Hourly contract role</li><li>Long-term opportunity for the right individual</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>How to Apply</b></p><p>Apply via LinkedIn with your resume.
