About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for Canadian entities and lead technical payroll projects. This role combines 70% functional payroll processing and 30% technical implementation, including system configurations and migrations to scalable platforms. You will collaborate with HR, IT, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple Canadian entities.
• Ensure timely and accurate employee payments and government remittances.
• Liaise with payroll providers (ADP GlobalView) and internal teams under a managed services model.
• Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead year-end processes, including tax filings and reporting of taxable benefits.
• Administer ESPP, stock options, and pension remittances.
• Support payroll-related projects, including platform migrations and integrations with HCM systems (SAP SuccessFactors).
• Coach and manage payroll team members, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Stay updated on legislative changes and implement compliance measures.
What It Takes
• 10+ years of supervisory experience in Canadian payroll within an international, multi-entity environment.
• Expertise in outsourced payroll systems (ADP GlobalView, Streamline, Celergo).
• Hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors and payroll system implementations.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and compliance.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong issue-resolution skills.
• Professional certification/membership in the National Payroll Institute preferred.
• Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation required.
• Second language skills considered an asset.
