_*POSITION SUMMARY:*_


Reporting to the Team Lead and/or Manager, the Registered Pharmacy Technician will be primarily responsible for assisting our patients through insurance challenges and available provincial/federal programs to make their medications more affordable. The Registered Pharmacy Technician will also be responsible for certain aspects as it pertains to patient/care partner enrollment for the provision or reimbursement, scheduling, and drug ordering.

Supporting our RDL location, the Registered Pharmacy Technician will also assist in dispensing medications, fulfilling prescription orders and maintaining inventory.

_*PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: *_
* Assist pharmacy team in day-to-day management of workload
* Work independently on labelling and filling/refilling prescriptions
* Perform an independent double check for repeat prescription release
* Verify that patients receive the correct prescription(s)
* Prepare/review and process billings, claims, disbursements and related documents
* Assist patients picking up their prescriptions
* Enter prescriptions into the computer; retrieve and/or correct data in the computer
* Order, maintain and prepare inventory of medications
* Receive and maintain accurate inventory
* Assist and educate patients in exploration of drug funding routes through public and private support and funding options
* Gathering necessary information for completion and submission to available funding programs. Perform regular follow-ups on submitted applications and provide routine status updates to patients and team as required.
* The Registered Pharmacy Technician is required to complete other duties as required from time to time.



_*QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:*_

Pharmacy Technician Diploma from an accredited college and successful completion of structured practical training or successful completion of Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) bridging program and a certificate of registration with OCP
* Two or more years of related pharmacy experience
* Strong proficiency in Kroll preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Strong analytical and mathematical skills
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Effective interpersonal skills to work within a multi-disciplinary team
* Excellent problem-solving skills to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
* Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
* Meticulous attention to detail

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months



Pay: $28.84-$30.76 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
