A leader in the industrial manufacturing sector is looking for a Plant Manager in the GTA. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this position is responsible for the management of production function of the entire plant. Reviews all aspects of departmental performance with respect to budget financial plan, plant operating goals and develop continuous improvements plans.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·      Ensure production schedules and quality requirements are met.

·      Handle collective agreement issues as applicable including grievance matters.

·      Review all aspects of departmental performance with respect to budget, finance plan, plant operating goals, and develop continuous improvement plans.

·      Introduce team-based manufacturing concepts to production employees.

·      Member of Management Team responsible for planning, budgeting and implementing the company’s production system.

·      Responsible for implementation of safe work practices.

·      Will be responsible for key elements in the safety leadership program.

·      Responsible for prudent management of departmental budget including budget preparation and cost control.

·      Maintain current production metrics and improve/implement where needed.

·      Play an essential role in health & safety and quality audit process.

 

Qualifications:

 

·      Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

·      Minimum of five years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least two years at the supervisory level, or equivalent education and experience.

·      Strong communication and demonstrable organizational and leadership skills

·      Qualification in Lean Six Sigma an asset.

·      P.Eng an asset.

·      Candidates must be able to demonstrate supervisory/managerial skills, including planning, leading, delegating, cost center management including budgeting, cost reduction plans, and customer quality requirements.

·      Knowledge of the requirements of collective agreements as applicable and health, safety and environment and employment legislation.

·      Good computer skills is an asset.

·      Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen is a must.
