Production Manager – Industrial Manufacturing
Location: Hamilton, ON
Ready to lead in a modern manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and teamwork drive everything? This Hamilton-based facility is looking for a Production Manager who thrives in dynamic settings and brings expertise in industrial manufacturing, especially with metals.
About the Opportunity
This newly upgraded plant is at the heart of Canadian operations, producing essential ground support products for mining and infrastructure projects around the globe. The team is growing and evolving, and you’ll play a key role in shaping its future.
What You’ll Do
- Lead & Inspire: Guide a dedicated team of 60+ staff—production, maintenance, shipping, and receiving—across dual shifts
- Optimize Operations: Plan and schedule resources to meet production targets, align with sales forecasts, and ensure smooth workflow.
- Drive Excellence: Champion continuous improvement initiatives, standardize processes (Lean, 5S, value stream mapping), and foster a culture of operational excellence.
- Collaborate: Work closely with supervisors, lead hands, maintenance, shipping, and quality teams to deliver top results.
- Monitor & Report: Oversee production reporting—KPIs, cycle counts, scrap/downtime tracking—and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Champion Safety: Enforce health & safety standards, company policies, and best practices, ensuring a safe, compliant environment for all.
Who You Are
- 5–7 years’ experience in manufacturing leadership, ideally in steel or industrial settings (stamping, metal rolling, welding a plus)
- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement expertise (Sigma/Lean certification highly preferred)
- Strong background in mechanical engineering and process modernization
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled in root cause analysis
- Proven ability to motivate and develop teams in a fast-paced environment
- Committed to health & safety, with a track record of fostering compliance and accountability
- Effective communicator and collaborator, comfortable working with cross-functional teams
- Experience with third-party galvanizers is an asset
- Proactive problem-solving and risk mitigation
- Seamless operations and minimized downtime
- Enhanced productivity through continuous improvement
- A culture of safety and compliance across all levels
Perks & Benefits:
- $100,000–$115,000 base salary + Up to 10% bonus
- 3 weeks vacation + 2 floating holidays
