Job Title: 2 Roles -

  • Program Manager - Disaster Recovery (DR) & Minimum Viable Company (MVC) Initiatives
  • Project Manager - Enterprise Data Governance & AI

Location: Calgary, AB

Length: Initial 3-month contract (planned 12-month engagement with possible extension)

Rotation: Monday to Friday, standard office schedule


Role 1: Program Manager - Disaster Recovery (DR) & Minimum Viable Company (MVC)


We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Program Manager to lead the implementation of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Minimum Viable Company (MVC) initiatives. Following a recent vendor assessment, this individual will translate recommendations into actionable workstreams, coordinate cross-functional teams, and deliver a resilient operating model aligned with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end execution of the DR and MVC program, including governance, operating, and delivery model implementation.
  • Translate vendor recommendations into structured work packages and oversee execution.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors (e.g., PwC, Accenture) to align technical and process deliverables.
  • Develop and manage program roadmaps, timelines, and maturity benchmarks (6, 12, 18 months).
  • Define and manage roles across delivery and sustainment teams, including recovery test coordination.
  • Oversee RFP development, vendor engagement strategies, cost, and scope management.
  • Prepare and deliver executive presentations and progress reports.
  • Monitor progress against resiliency frameworks (e.g., NIST) to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure alignment with strategic planning and cybersecurity initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in program/project management, preferably in IT resilience, disaster recovery, or enterprise risk.
  • Proven success managing complex, multi-vendor initiatives in large organizations.
  • Strong understanding of DR frameworks (e.g., NIST), operating models, and governance structures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging senior leadership and technical stakeholders.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience with vendor management, RFPs, and budget planning.
  • Experience within the energy or utilities sector is an asset.


Role 2: Project Manager - Enterprise Data Governance & AI


We are also seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead enterprise-wide Data Governance and Artificial Intelligence (AI) implementation projects. This position will oversee strategic data initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory compliance, and innovation goals.


Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Manage full project lifecycle for data governance and AI initiatives-from planning to delivery and closure.
  • Oversee production releases and deployments for enterprise data and AI platforms.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO standards, change management protocols, and compliance requirements.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to defined scope.

Data Governance Leadership

  • Develop and implement enterprise data governance and AI frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead data quality, classification, lineage, and metadata management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, regulatory, and audit requirements.

AI Project Management

  • Lead AI and machine learning project implementations-from requirements through deployment.
  • Manage integration of AI solutions across enterprise systems and ensure ethical AI governance.
  • Oversee model validation, risk management, and performance monitoring processes.

Stakeholder & Risk Management

  • Engage with business, technical, legal, compliance, and risk stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Present updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project and data-related risks.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity teams for secure data and AI implementations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • PMP certification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in data governance, AI, or enterprise technology.
  • Expertise in data governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, and AI lifecycle management.
  • Proven success delivering complex, cross-functional data or AI projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of the energy sector or related industries is an asset.
