Project Manager (Production)

Job Description

THE ROLE:

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of creative projects within a fast-paced agency environment. This role ensures that creative deliverables—including design and production of layouts, digital assets, print materials, video content, and integrated campaigns—are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including creative, account management, production studio, and other external vendors, to drive seamless project execution from brief to final delivery.


OPERATIONS

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of creative projects, from briefing and planning through to production and final delivery.
  • Oversee the development of layout design/production, including print materials, digital and social assets, video content, OOH displays, and integrated brand campaigns.
  • Work with internal creative teams, designers, copywriters, and production specialists to ensure deliverables align with client objectives, technical layout spec requirements, and brand guidelines.
  • Utilize project management methodologies, incorporating both Waterfall and Agile approaches to optimize workflows and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with account managers, creative leads, and vendors to establish clear project specs, timelines, scope, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct internal status meetings and scrums to track project milestones, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain compliance with agency workflow tools and routing systems to facilitate smooth collaboration and approvals.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including schedules, status reports, risk assessments
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively, developing contingency plans when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure expectations are aligned and deliverables meet agency and client standards.
  • Be a steward of good process; ensure all projects adhere to optimal project and production processes that maximize efficiency, accuracy, and quality, tailoring approach for the specific needs of each project.


FINANCIAL

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define project scope, assumptions, and budgets.
  • Monitor project scope and financial health, identifying and addressing potential overages, scope creep, scope revisions as required.
  • Work with vendors to obtain quotes and timing for production and creative execution needs.
  • Escalate financial concerns to senior management as needed, ensuring project profitability is maintained.


IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of project management experience in a creative advertising agency
  • Must have experience managing creative layout projects, from design through to execution and delivery across an array of digital, print, and video deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of creative workflows, production processes, creative layout/deliverable specifications, and quality control of creative layout projects including digital design, print production, video production, and integrated campaigns.
  • Experience managing creative deliverables across various formats, including web assets, social media content, print collateral, video, and OOH advertising.
  • Knowledge of creative agency dynamics, working with multidisciplinary teams in a high-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Advertising, Marketing, Design, or Communications) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in development and maintenance of creative project timelines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting deadlines and project demands while maintaining high-quality output.


Additional Information

This role represents an active vacancy at Havas. You will be joining a collaborative, growth-oriented environment where ideas are encouraged and career development is supported. The base salary range for this position is CAD $60,000 to $87,000, with final compensation determined based on factors such as work location, skills, experience, and background.
