Within TELUS Health Care Centers (THCC) business unit, the Health Care Excellence (HCE) IT team leads the strategic and financial planning, program framework, and governance for health clinics across Canada. As part of this team, you will be responsible for leading the management and optimization of the medical equipment technology lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective patient care across our network of clinics.

As a Senior Business Analyst, Medical Equipment Focus, you will be part of an energetic and dedicated team that manages the day to day IT operations related to medical equipment for our TELUS Health Clinics nationally.

You’ll be responsible for driving decision making support, strategy, governance, and measuring the financial impacts of medical equipment technologies. This means providing our leadership team with insightful analysis to ensure that we can make the right decisions to support our customers, team members, and shareholders.

As medical equipment technology spans across the organization, you will be partnering with a diverse group of leaders where our success will require thoughtful engagement of teams and continuous evolution of our planning and spending approaches.

You are a dynamic, hardworking, and driven leader with a proven track-record of strategic, financial, and business planning in a healthcare or medical device setting. You will play a leadership role in the planning and development of medical equipment spend, the governance of medical technologies, and the driving of the COE framework for the HCD IT team, with a specific focus on medical equipment.

In a leadership capacity, you will support a high performing team accountable for:

  • Collaborating with your peers to provide medical equipment expenditure outlooks, while maintaining and enhancing resulting financial forecast models
  • System analysis and design of the organization’s medical equipment needs, current technology infrastructure, and workflow processes to design and implement efficient IT systems that support the medical equipment program
  • Gathering requirements and overseeing the implementation and integration of new medical equipment software and hardware with existing IT systems, ensuring seamless data exchange, interoperability, and adherence to healthcare data standards (, HL7, DICOM)
  • Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance for medical equipment IT systems, including troubleshooting issues, performing updates and upgrades, and ensuring system security and data integrity
  • Ensuring interlock on medical equipment initiatives by working across THCC and TELUS Health business units, including IT, Finance, Procurement, Network, and Health teams
  • Supporting the preparation and presentation of medical equipment program updates at HCD Governance meetings and LT calls
  • Promoting effective medical equipment cost management by identifying savings opportunities through collaboration with peers and leaders across multiple business units

  • Demonstrated financial and strategic acumen including forecasting, budgeting, invoice management, planning and analysis skills, with a focus on medical equipment
  • Expertise in building and analyzing business cases with demonstrated financial acumen to assess benefits, costs, and risks associated with medical equipment
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, Finance, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of program or strategic experience in a program or project management position within a healthcare or medical device setting
