This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).


In accordance with the Administrative and Professional Officer Agreement, this full-time continuing position offers a comprehensive benefits package found on our Benefits Overview page and an annual salary range of $71,557 to $119,269.

Location – This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person at Enterprise Square, Edmonton.

Then this opportunity, as a Senior Consultant, may be a great fit. Reporting to the Manager, Business Support Services the Senior Consultant will be instrumental in identifying process efficiencies and enable process transformation where latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation can be adopted. By working collaboratively with cross-functional teams within Service Delivery, HR and Finance Services under Shared Services, the incumbent creates an informed process design model, strategy, and governance structure to engage key stakeholders in defining solutions that align with our strategic objectives.



This position works very closely with the Associate Vice President, Directors, and Senior Level Administrators and requires a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, independence, leadership, flexibility, and exceptional interpersonal skills.


Duties

  • Analyzes problems or issues in a systematic way to identify underlying causes. Engages in a range of approaches to generate possible resolutions. Provides holistic and thoughtful solutions.
  • Leads process optimization projects focussed on HR, Finance and IT practices, from design through implementation
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions, providing ongoing support and adjustments as needed.
  • Develop process documentation, including workflows, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
  • Stay updated on latest trends and technologies to apply industry best practices in the standardization of Shared Services processes
  • Gather ideas and develops new perspectives through stakeholder /user consultation and focus group sessions.
  • Assist Service Innovation with implementation of change management best practices and methodologies to facilitate process users and other stakeholders adopt process changes.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in Business Analysis, Process Design, and/or Process Optimization with a Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Certification(s) in Business Analysis (e.g., IIBA) and/or in one or more of the Process Improvement disciplines (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, etc.).
  • Superb oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to move diverse groups toward consensus.
  • Experience in designing and optimizing business processes related to HR, Finance and IT Administration
  • Proficiency in process mapping and optimization tools. (E.g. BPM software, Visio).
  • Experience in adopting AI or RPA technology for automation to gain process efficiencies
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools. Proven organizational change management skills.
  • An understanding of the structure and issues facing a large post-secondary institution or public sector is an asset.
  • Project Management Certification is an asset.
