Salary:

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canadas largest airport for the future of air travelincluding critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.


Job Summary


The Senior Estimator will lead the development and management of cost estimates for PACTs multi-billion-dollar Accelerator Program at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Working closely with the Commercial, Design, and Sub-Program teams, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing, validating, and presenting robust, data-driven estimates across all stages of design and construction. This role plays a key part in the establishment of the Target Price, supports change and risk management, and ensures alignment between scope, schedule, design maturity, and market realities across all major sub-programs (Airfield, Interim Terminal, GHG, and Priority Projects).


Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates that align with evolving design stages and contractual requirements.
  • Manage and validate quantity take-offs and pricing for civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
  • Drive collaboration with Design, Commercial, Procurement, and Sub-Program Leads to ensure accurate costing and constructability alignment.
  • Develop and present cost plans and benchmarks, ensuring integration of historical data, productivity rates, and risk contingencies.
  • Lead and contribute to cost, value engineering, and risk review workshops to optimize design-to-budget outcomes.
  • Support the development and refinement of the Target Price and progressive design-build commercial submissions.
  • Evaluate and validate subcontractor and supplier quotations for completeness, accuracy, and competitiveness.
  • Provide cost input for change management, design variations, and potential scope adjustments.
  • Ensure all estimates and cost plans comply with GTAA, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the development of standardized estimating templates, databases, and best practices across the program.
  • Prepare and deliver cost reports, presentations, and recommendations for internal leadership and client review.

Work Conditions


The position will be based at our offices in Mississauga, Ontario, with regular visits to the site offices as required. This position is 5 days per week with core hours of work between approximately 8:00am5:00pm with 1 hour lunch, or as agreed upon with your manager. All employees must complete a RAIC and Criminal background check.


Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies

  • 812 years of progressive experience in estimating for large-scale infrastructure, aviation, or heavy civil projects.
  • Proven experience developing estimates for progressive design-build or joint venture programs.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario construction market, including subcontractor and supplier networks
  • In-depth understanding of construction means and methods, unit rate build-up, and market pricing.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as OST, CostX, WinEst, or equivalent, and strong Excel modelling skills.
  • Advanced ability to interpret design drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and risk management acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate results under tight deadlines.
