Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications for large hard‑bid/lump‑sum, construction management and small‑to‑medium design‑build projects to determine overall project requirements.


• Establish a critical path schedule including milestone dates and completion timelines to meet contract completion dates for large projects.


• Complete full quantity take‑off of all labor, equipment and materials for larger scopes.


• Lead pricing of general expense and project‑specific general requirements for medium to large projects.


• Complete as‑bid estimate and trade buy‑out strategy with operations team.


• Assist in presenting estimate/proposal and prepare and deliver client presentations.


• Perform quantity, material and labor take‑off from drawings, specifications and related documents.


• Document all information relating to the estimate and archive and organize such information to transfer to the project team upon award.


• Conduct a risk and opportunity analysis for review by chief estimator.


• Liaise with external consultants and project management organizations to estimate project budget requirements and coordinate tender development process on behalf of clients.


• Monitor client project‑specific success criteria and hold team accountable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.


• Gold Seal certification in estimating required (CDN).


• 12 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, with onsite experience preferred.


• Successfully led pursuits valued up to $250 million in various delivery models.


• Experience with self‑perform estimate and productivity understanding.


• Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, sequencing, potential problems and timelines.


• Extensive knowledge of bid preparation, including quantity take‑off procedures, trade contractor procurement, pricing and bid closing procedures.


• Expertise in contract terms for various delivery models and ability to identify contract risks and opportunities.


• Strong ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with owners, peers and industry representatives.


• Resourceful, self‑motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.


• Ability to lead successful teams.

The estimated salary range for this role is $115,000.00 – $149,000.00, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
