<p><h3>Senior Full-Stack Developer (Java + Angular) - Hybrid</h3><p>Join to apply for the Senior Full-Stack Developer (Java + Angular) - Hybrid role at CGI.</p><p>We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and we are still growing. We are expanding in Atlantic Canada, and we need your skills, enthusiasm, and dedication as part of our team. We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in back-end development using Java and front-end development using Angular, with extensive experience in modern web technologies and frameworks.</p><p>This position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days a week in any CGI Atlantic location: Halifax, NS, Moncton or Fredericton, NB, Stratford, PE, or St. John’s, NL. Additionally, Reliability clearance is required for this role (must reside in Canada 5+ years to be eligible).</p><p>Your future duties and responsibilities</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Spring Boot</li>
<li>Build and optimize data layers with Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and effective transaction management</li>
<li>Manage database versioning and migrations with Flyway or similar tools</li>
<li>Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for system integration</li>
<li>Integrate pub/sub messaging systems (e.g., Kafka) and caching solutions (e.g., Redis) to support high-performance, event-driven architectures</li>
<li>Ensure high code quality through comprehensive unit testing and adherence to best practices</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Frontend Development: Develop responsive, modular web applications using Angular and modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript)</li>
<li>Collaborate with designers to deliver intuitive, user-friendly interfaces</li>
<li>Optimize front-end performance and ensure scalability of the UI components</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Platform & Automation: Deploy, manage, and monitor applications in Kubernetes (K8s) and OpenShift environments</li>
<li>Implement CI/CD pipelines using Tekton, ArgoCD, GitLab CI, or similar tools</li>
<li>Contribute to DevOps practices for smooth, automated delivery and operations</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Testing & Quality Assurance: Write and maintain unit and integration tests across the stack</li>
<li>Perform automated REST API testing using Playwright or similar tools</li>
<li>Collaborate with QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and high application reliability</li>
</ul>
<h3>Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience</li>
<li>10+ years in software development, including 5+ years leading solution design and implementation</li>
<li>Strong Java and Spring Boot experience (5+ years), with focus on microservices</li>
<li>Proficient in Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and distributed transactions</li>
<li>Experience with Flyway or similar tools</li>
<li>Familiar with Kafka (preferred), RabbitMQ, or other messaging systems</li>
<li>Strong SQL and experience with Redis, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server</li>
<li>3+ years with Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3</li>
<li>Experience integrating RESTful APIs and using NgRx (preferred)</li>
<li>Good to have Frontend performance tuning, PWAs experience</li>
<li>Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift</li>
<li>Experience building CI/CD pipelines with Tekton, ArgoCD, GitLab CI, or similar</li>
<li>Unit testing with JUnit, Mockito; frontend testing with Karma/Jasmine</li>
<li>Familiar with API testing tools like Playwright or Postman</li>
