Senior Java Developer - 6 Month Contract
Job Description
Our Client is the leading provider of full-service back-up and recovery technology and has engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to help them recruit a Contract Senior Java Developer. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Recruitment Augmentation.
This is a 6 Month Contract located in GTA - WEST.
What you need to have:
- 7+ years of hands-on, practical software development experience
- 5+ years’ experience with Java (including JNI)
- Experience writing multi-threaded and/or multi-process code
What you will be doing:
- Drive the product line in terms of innovation and quality
- Participate in team meetings to design and estimate development stories
- Participate in code reviews and pair programming activities
- Collaborate with others on approaches to solve tasks
- Build solid products with clean, well-designed, unit tested code
- Use cutting-edge development techniques, including TTD
It would be nice if you also had:
- 2+ years’ experience with Hadoop technologies (including Pig, HDFS, HIVE, NoSql)
- 5+ years’ experience with C++ (including boost and STL)
- 5+ years’ experience with multi-platform development Windows/Linux
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Must be self-motivated
- Strong unit testing software skills/experience
- A passion for keeping up with new technologies
- Very solid personal organizational and prioritization skills
